These crossmembers offer more clearance where needed to allow the use of an oil pan originally designed for the C6 Corvette to be run on the Trailblazer SS.
The advantage of the C6 Corvette oil pan over the factory one is that the oil pickup tube for the engine is in the rear of the pan, as opposed to the factory TBSS pan which has the oil pickup in the front. The stock pan has been known to cause oil starvation issues under hard acceleration and is believed to be the number one killer of the bottom end of the engine in the this platform.
Please note that while this crossmember will fit both RWD and AWD, the C6 pan itself can only be run on a RWD truck - the front differential on AWD versions will not work with the C6 oil pan. The benefit on an AWD truck would only be the weight savings. Made of 3/16 aluminum and uses factory mounting points to tie the frame together. Weighs only 7 lbs 1.9 oz with included mounting hardware. Oil pan not included. These crossmembers are for off-road/race use only.
