This takes place of your hitch and keeps your bumper from becoming distorted/flexed and torn from running with no hitch support under your rear bumper.
The stock hitch setup weighs around 61lbs, this brace is all aluminum with stainless hardware and comes in at 7.4lbs which comes out to a 53.6 pound weight savings. This sits right up and actually touches the bottom of the bumper to allow weight to still be placed on the step pad without ruining or distorting the bumper.
The mounting uses the factory hitch holes in the frame and the individual pieces of the kit are slotted to allow perfect fit for each truck. The stock bumper tabs are then bolted to the bracing.
No Cutting Required
*This kit was designed for racing use as a rear bumper support only. It will not function as an impact device in the event of a collision.
